Why I’m in favor of political violence in a post Charlie Kirk world.

There is a huge difference between civil unrest and political violence. Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination wasn’t political violence, it was civil unrest. Abe Lincoln’s death wasn’t political violence, it was civil unrest. I know civil unrest sounds like I’m down playing the deaths, however, historically political violence has been known as war. While war should be scarce, it’s historically done us good. Revolutionary war, the civil war, world war 2. Without political violence we would all be goose stepping and speaking German.

However trite civil unrest sounds, it’s vastly downright from war. Civil unrest is when you get a tough climate and tensions rise within. Sometimes the catalyst for war itself, however, that’s isn’t always true.

Charlie was a martyr for Christian values or conservatism, he was assassinated for ego and valuation. Charlie clearly wasn’t a Hitler in training and attempting a political overthrow, he was a father and a husband that wanted the best for his children.

However, he is a martyr for stupidity. Ivory tower dumb fucks we call millennial, with 80s yuppie entitlement issues that seem to think they in the midst of a war, like it’s the 1960s. To compare the two would be an egregiously ignorant thing. Blacks were oppressed in the 60s, along with other minorities. There isn’t any way to hide it. What do we have now but micro disagreement. I’ve said this in my 20s and I’ll repeat it in my 40s, you can’t compare civil rights to the gay marriage movement. Sammy Davis jr couldn’t hide his skin, and while I disagree with the idea that gays should have to be closeted, such was far from real repression. Real repression is when you’re a homosexual college student and you get dragged by the back of a truck for no reason like Matthew Shepherd.

Trans “rights” is not a real issue , they’re just trading one set of rights for another.

Gay marriage isn’t a real issue , because love is more important than people giving a fuck about you.

Blacks and other minorities have been integrated into society for 60 something years, they’re not repressed.

The palatines aren’t repressed, you’re anti Semitic and need to grow up.

What we do have a real issue with is the looming threat of a third world war among other real issues going

The only thing Charlie’s death did, was reveal a bigger overall narrative of mental health issues among the millennial cohort than ever before.

Let’s start focusing on real issues again. As a line from one of my favorite scenes says

“we can’t be consumed with our petty differences anymore.” -President Witmore Independence Day

My condolences to Charlie’s family, friends and fans.

Is it Real Celebrity or a Facade?

So social media is pretty fuckin old now. Facebook is twenty, X formerly Twitter is approaching it and the various other forms are catching up.

So, I didn’t grow up a social media native like the Gen Z youth did. Back in my, social media was something like a book, roller dex or who you worked with.

Now with that in mind, these platforms have various ways of “verifying” you. The “celebrity” checkmark as I’ve called it over the years or other identifying marks aren’t necessarily as real as they seem.

For instance, when I started Bestinyourgirl I paid to promote the facebook page and got like 300 or so likes before I ended the campaign. I looked at the engagement rate for it. That page never got and engagement, so I stopped using it entirely because it wasn’t worth posting to, with nothing happening.

My X account got some engagement, but it was mostly non followers. The followers of which I got were mostly fake Japanese accounts with the egg and kanji.

The engagement rate just wasn’t there.

I’ve deleted my instagram account multiple times over the years because instagram has a child fetish that upsold me dozens of very young modeling pages. So I can’t speak to any real engagement back then.

However, I’ve paid enough attention to Hollywood, Wrestling and other accounts and noticed a pattern a couple of years in. Legit engagement is 10 or so likes per 100 followers. So if you take the cap of 2 million or so followers that most of the legit celebrities have, albeit some exceptions like Pewdie pie, by the time you reach that barometer, you have about a quarter million or so legit “fans” that actively engage with your social platforms.

The rest are just for show and can be regaled to the wannabe aera of obscurity where most people still belong, including most celebrities.

However, I would say if This formula is accurate, a better label might be a purple label, since fans and a passion color would indicate a more accurate barometer of why they’re following your account.

Bestinyourgirl for instance wouldn’t fall under this banner as it was always intended as “unbrand” and I’ve set the tone for that over the years. However, since we’re on the subject, my preferred verification mark for this would be 🖕

Which for those paying attention, was the original logo for this to begin with.

The OG logo

Regardless of whether or not any of this holds merit, stay metal 🤘

There is no such thing as a loneliness pandemic, it’s in your head.

“We suffer more in imagination than in reality” -Seneca

I’ve read a bunch of bullshit over the years about a “loneliness pandemic” that was plaguing the country, sending people to their doom.

I’m here to tell you, it’s full of shit! The average person isn’t lonely, because loneliness isn’t a thing, it’s self absorbed woe is me mentality that turns your sorry ass into an insufferable bastard that can’t function and we call that seasonal depression.

Reminds me of this quote

“Depression hits losers the hardest-The Onion”

As I’ve posted before, friendship isn’t about you needing a person or partner. It’s about a yearning to enjoy a person’s company in relation to what you’re doing.

For instance, I’ve gone out plenty of times and never felt lonely. I never called out dozens of friends to come over and cheer me up.

You should be calling friends cause their presence in your life is missed, you should be hanging out because their presence would enhance the environment you’re currently in. Friendships are two way streets.

If I wrote to a random woman and told her I needed to cum, I’m the bad guy, but do the same with filling a figurative internal hole and you’re a swell person.

Relationships are not parasitic, rather mutual and can be born out of many things. Much like biology class, it’s all what makes up an ecosystem.

So in the end, it’s about figuratively and maybe literally, getting off together in a way where you both benefit, because only one benefits from the hand job that’s loneliness , but you both benefit from spiritual coitus.

Experience Hendrix: The Hendrix Tone

So it’s no secret that I’m. Jimi Hendrix guy. It’s kinda a family thing. My dad loves Jimi too! it’s almost impossible to not enjoy Jimi, unless you had the unfortunate accident of being born to be a peer of his, like Eric Clapton.

So I posted a video on my facebook about working on this rig and trying to find the right things for it.

So let’s get the most important part out of the way, the guitar. I’m using a Strat Squier, that’s been superficially modified only. This should not drastically alter everything. So my dad grew up around tech, so I’ve read his books and have a good understanding of tech of the time. My hypothesis here is that a modern Squier is on par with a Fender custom of the 60s. That because as tech improves, the old physical cap starts to become the “inferior” tech. So $119 gets you something that’s on par with an old 60s fender. At least for non giging guitarist like myself. I can’t promise this will work on stage.

Jimi Hendrix’s Fender had 5 springs in the back, common for the time. Modern Fender’s have 3. Altering this is irrelevant. I have three. You will have to float the trem by about a half inch.

I also modded the tuners to cheap tuners from chia. The stock ones were decent, but I wanted to emulate the era. So my logic was, cheap tuners, plus whammy=60s era tuning problems. I was fairly accurate on this. It helps to understand Jimi on a deeper level.

I’ve also tested this on a non modded fender affinity and it works.

Cost to far: $119

Next is the amp. Jimi used Marshall’s. Any amp should technically do. I don’t have a bunch of amps to test this out on, but that’s not the point. The point of this whole experiment was to establish competency in guitar, so much like a P.H.D I expect most people to put the rig together and shred it apart, aka “peer review”. Let’s see if it holds up to muster.

Cost so far: $180+$119= $299

Next up is the Vox. Jimi used it and I’m no exception. His was the silver version, but the basic 805 will do.

Next up is the fuzz box. I’ve listened to a plethora of YouTube videos and this was the best sounding one. Berhinger orange fuzz.

Next up is the univibe. Much like the fuzz, this one sounded truest to the tone. It’s the 69’ vibe by Berhinger. It’s sold out everywhere but Europe.

The last peice of the puzzle is the Roger Mayer Octavia. The white one. I don’t have this yet, but it sits on Amazon for a bit over 300. It’s the only one that sounds true to tone. The rest don’t work, but my Marshall GFX has an Octavia setting that works well enough.

$563 dollars for all pedals accounted for.

So for about $862 dollars you can become Jimi Hendrix himself: This rig is really versatile. You can even play every Sabbath song very well. So the Marshall and the guitar pay for itself.

It’s probably the closest to a modern rig of his you’re going to get.

So the set up is as follows

Vox, Fuzz, 69 vibe, Mayer Octavia.

There is a pic online that shows the jimmy rig with a splitter. This is probably accurate and he had it as two individual rigs. I haven’t done this, but I can confirm it’s true, because Jimi didn’t have his univibe unit on all the time. He used it in select songs to accent certain areas. Since the 69 vibe only has true bypass, you’re going to have to separate them so so can essentially turn it off. Its biggest contribution to Jimi was probably making all his music in sound rounded and in stereo. This would probably have been important because most music was recorded in monophonic. If a basic Strat sounded too frail, this worked.

If you can’t afford the whole rig, you can get by with just the fuzz and the Vox. so once you get it set up, there is two important variables in this.

Key of E standard

It’s often said Jimi played in E flat or C. This is untrue. There could be many reasons for this. Such as recording in monophonic made E standard sound like E flat. However, here’s two ways to confirm he was in E.

First his cover of the Trogs Wild Thing is best sounding in E. Second is the riff to Burning the midnight lamp is only correct in E standard.

The melody to the riff is

E ———————————————

B———————————————

On B, 2, 4 open, repeat.

G———————————————

D———————————————

A———————————————

E———————————————

To further prove my point, you can replicate this on the acoustic without fuzz and it sounds the same. I’ll post a tik tok later to prove my point and link later.

EDIT: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT64wdvqy/

The other mistake people make with Jimi is that they buy the fuzz face. From my understanding, Roger Mayer, Jimi’s technical guy, modded the fuzz face so it was basically the casing only.

So back to facts, if you want to be more accurate in Jimi Hendrix.

Turn the gain to 10.

Dime the Strats volume and two tone knobs

Put the Stratocaster style guitar into lead mode. Last single coil only.

Hook up the Vox, then fuzz and set it to 10 on all settings. when you get them, the 69 vibe and the Mayer Octavia.

We will go through the settings in the 69 vibe and Octavia at a later date.

Now you can start playing Jimi Hendrix more accurately.

The next time I write a peice on Jimi this long, we’re going to be looking at techniques to sound more accurate. I’m going to be buying some things to make it more 60s accurate.

Once you try it, I think you realize that my Squier, definitely deserves the new neck plate I bought it.

Shark Tank: A Guide to Better Acting for the youth

I’m not an actor. However, I picked up a thing or two over the years that the youth of today desperately need.

Step One: Are you a thespian or a regurgitator? What’s the difference? One just recites lines and the other gets deeply into the skin of another and helps “sell the lie that tells the truth”-George Carlin

It’s fine to just read lines and collect a paycheck. I mean, that’s really all acting is good for. However, I’m understood that some people out there genuinely enjoy acting. I could never understand why, but whatever. Regardless, the pool of applicants is plagued by just so-so acting and nothing really stands out anymore. At least in the 1980s and 1990s, you had different teir acting and really good actors stood out. In today’s word, especially Hollywood, everything is ultra sterile. No B movies with acting so bad that it would make Tommy Lee Jones time as Two Face seem like Aaron. Eckhearts.

To be fair, about 15 years ago, I would have said actors jumped the shark with too much method acting. I mean, even 50 cents was looking emaciated for a role. Just too much of it going around.

Look, not everyone is going to get an academy award and that’s ok, you need a slew of actors to make up the world. Even bad ones are necessary to the machine. Micheal Jordon wouldn’t be MJ if everyone played like him. Some mutha fuckers gotta get they asses whooped. just like pro wrestling, you got to have a bad guy to cheer for the good guy.

Much like the NHL, acting is really a gamble more than ever. Back in the day, if you had a sturdy sense of self, you knew who you could do better than. that’s gone, as I’ve stated. So what makes good acting in today’s world? Character acting! We’re talking Gary Oldman character acting. Robert Downy Jr in Tropic Thunder character acting,

Why is this difficult? Good question! Something I’ve been pondering since my early 20s. I’ve, thankfully, done very little acting in my life. However, of the acting I’ve done, I know I can’t play a character worth a good goddamn. I don’t think it’s self consciousness either, as it’s just me seeing myself doing a painfully transparent rouse. I don’t like doing this. As i got older, I appreciate some of the tools of acting and find they can be useful outside of acting, but I have to do it the old fashioned cliche way of adding a bit of myself to the character in order to even attempt such.

If you can, find a way to get a character so unique, different and quirky that it’s impossible to say “no” for Hollywood. I know it seems entitled to have the idea in your head that you have “Kate Winslet” clout in your youth, and in my 20s I would have said you’re going to sabotage your career. However, in my 40s, it’s really the only way to do it. You’re competing with AI, you’re competing with a sterilized environment. You got YouTube and half a dozen of them are mentally ill. social pariahs, so you can really beat them if you can bring to light the plight of an otherwise interesting character and do it well.

I’m personally glad I never wanted to be an entertainer in my youth. Everything I ever wanted to do, I have no competition for. However, if your the type that wants to do this, then that’s something to look at. Especially because I’m getting bored with my reviews and the whole “decent” acting part that’s becoming as sterile as Hollywood. So get out there and either be really bad at acting or stand out.

As always, stay metal! 🤘

Behringer 69 vibe

This was going to be a review, but instead it’s going to be a rant. So I bought an item that was €41 plus shipping from the UK. About 18€ extra. Then on top of that, it was supposed to be duty free.

It went up since August 4, 2025 when I got it for $41

So I check my card a few days later after

Not sure why they charged me $83

So they at least told me that they could be a duty so to look it up before I buy. Obviously, government lies and clearly even though there’s not supposed to be a duty based on the HSS code. However, I got hit. DHL basically extorted me to deliver my package. Which is bullshit! However

I finally got me the pedal that has been sold out for months. Normally I would not give in to trendy items. However, this is the only pedal I’ve heard on YouTube that genuinely has the retro sound I’m going for on my Hendrix kick. Maybe a lawyer out there can start a class action lawsuit against customs for this flagrant behavior of lying about bs, but where would government be if they told the truth? All in all, I basically paid full price for a pedal with too much shipping and handling. I will review this in the future.

Review Here:

Already this thing has proven to be worth the hassle that it became. It’s sturdy casing, excellent buttons and does exactly what it is supposed to. Already attached to my rig and my sounds emanating from it are very old school. It’s easy to set up and get going and would probably be even better if I got a pedal for it. The downside to it is that, it’s going to be a pain in the ass if you’re a gig’er and you make different songs using different dials to really direct a sound. So if you fall into that camp, make a playlist of your music that you can keep the controls the same all night. If you’re like me and just love playing the guitar and don’t gig, you’re going to love this little puppy. It’s the right tone and price to play your favor to songs and is filled with ao much versatility in styles, it will be months before you exhaust a quarter of its settings. It’s the perfect thing for me. Not to mention, unlike other products, this one’s dials go to 11. Nice!

Spinal Tap reference is win!
